About AI Search Audit
Know what AI sees.
Why we built this
Search is no longer just a results page. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity now read websites directly and decide what to cite, quote, and recommend. Most sites were built for traditional search crawlers and human visitors, not for the crawlers and parsers behind these AI systems, and it shows in ways a normal SEO audit does not catch: pages an LLM crawler cannot fetch, content structure it cannot parse into passages, and schema it cannot use to attribute a claim.
AI Search Audit exists to make that gap visible. We scan a site the way an AI crawler would, score what we find against a fixed set of checks, and hand back specific, actionable fixes instead of a vague grade.
How it works
The scanner reads a site's homepage plus up to four more pages — ranked from its sitemap and its homepage links — along with the files served at its root (robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt). It evaluates them against 27 deterministic checks spanning the five pillars: AI accessibility, AI understanding, AI trust, content & retrieval, and technical quality. Every check is rule-based, not AI-generated judgment, so a given page scores the same way every time you run it.
If a site responds slowly the scan reads fewer pages rather than timing out, and the report says exactly which pages it read and which it skipped. We would rather tell you the sample was small than quietly present it as the whole site.
Each report also shows exactly which AI crawlers can reach your site, separating the ones that fetch pages for answers and citations from the ones that collect training data — because blocking the second is a legitimate editorial choice, and only the first affects whether an assistant can cite you.
What we won't promise
We do not claim to guarantee AI rankings, citations, or visibility — no one controls what a model chooses to cite. What we do provide is a clear, repeatable measure of the technical barriers within your control, and the fixes to remove them.
Who builds this
AI Search Audit is built and run by Akash Yadav, an independent developer. It is a small, self-funded product rather than a venture-backed one, which is why the free tier is a complete audit and the paid tier is $5 — there is no growth target that needs the free version to be worse.
